We are renaming today Black Monday to mark the passing of what the potential to become a musical insitution – we mourn the passing of PWL RADIO.

“It is a shame that this had to happen but we did not have the financial backing needed to keep the station running.

The original plan was to launch on Sky Digital and DAB and also other formats from the start 2 years ago, but this didnt happen.

The fact is an Internet only radio station will not survive. Radio makes its money from sponsors and advertisers and having the internet as the only platform is not attractive to big advertisers.

PWL cant keep putting money into PWL Radio and it has got to a point now where it is loosing money and so has to close.

Thanks to everyone who has supported and listened to the station since it came on air just over a year ago.”
